Economics & Business Graduate · London
Commercially sharp, analytically driven. A 2:1 Economics and Business graduate from Southampton with hands-on leadership experience and a genuine interest in turning numbers into decisions.
About Me
I'm a 21-year-old Economics and Business Management graduate from the University of Southampton, currently based in London and looking for graduate roles in audit, accounting, and economic analysis — in the UK or on the East Coast of the US.
My degree gave me a strong grounding in microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial accounting, and business strategy. But what I've always enjoyed most is the analytical side: understanding why things work the way they do, and communicating that clearly to other people.
Outside of academics, I served as Vice President of Southampton University Rugby Football Club — managing a £10,000+ budget, representing the club to the university, and leading a committee of officers across three teams. That role taught me more about communication, accountability, and working under pressure than any module did.
I'm now actively building new skills — currently learning Python — and I'm focused on finding a graduate role where I can contribute from day one and grow quickly.
What I Bring
Qualifications
Work & Research
11,000-word independent research project investigating the relationship between leadership styles and organisational productivity in software companies. Conducted nine semi-structured interviews with CEOs and private equity directors. Applied the Dulewicz & Higgs Leadership Dimensions Questionnaire as a theoretical framework. Achieved a grade of 71%.
Four years as an Assistant Manager at Wimbledon Championships, running front-of-house beverage operations for 600+ daily guests. As sole floor manager I was responsible for stock management, ordering, and delivery coordination. This role developed strong instincts for operational efficiency, financial accountability, and working under pressure in a high-profile environment.
As Vice President of Southampton URFC, I managed all treasury operations for a club with 80+ members across three teams, overseeing an annual budget in excess of £10,000. Responsibilities included financial planning, recording income and expenditure, and reporting to the students' union. As Social Secretary I also secured multiple local business sponsorship agreements to supplement club funding.
Volunteer role supporting the preparation of annual financial accounts at Wimbledon Rugby Football Club. Gained practical exposure to Sage accounting software, tax return preparation, and monthly management accounting processes — giving me an early and practical grounding in real-world financial reporting well before entering university.
Work History
A mix of professional internships, long-term part-time roles, and voluntary positions — all of which have shaped how I think about financial management, communication, and working in a team.
